The latest installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, surprised fans with its early release last night. Five Nights at Freddy's marks its tenth anniversary today, August 8, and was originally expected to celebrate with the release of a new game. However, after accidentally releasing early in Japan, the game was released on Steam yesterday, one day before the official anniversary.

Five Nights at Freddy’s, created by Scott Cawthon, first launched in 2014 as a 2D point-and-click horror game. Players must survive five nights as the new night guard of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Since then, the FNAF series has expanded significantly, with eleven main games, eight spin-off games, a three-part novel series, a series of short stories, and a feature film released in October 2019. last year, a sequel is expected in 2025. It has become one of the most popular horror games, attracting a large number of fans from children to adults and making many online streamers famous. 

The latest version of Five Nights at Freddy's, Into the Pit, based on the short story of the same name, is the first story released in the Five Nights at Freddy's novel series. It was originally scheduled for release on August 8 to celebrate the franchise's tenth anniversary, but was accidentally released early in Japan. As a result, the developers decided to fully release the game, making Into the Pit available last night, August 7. Currently, the game is available on Steam for $19.99.
